Carol is a published and listed member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). In 2020, Carol won the SCBWI Magazine Merit Award for Poetry for her poem, "Moving Day Villanelle" which appeared in the July 2020 issue of The Caterpillar (Ireland).
